As long as it isn't raining or snowing here on Long Island, I plan on riding to work everyday (about 10 miles each way). So far, I've ridden when the temperature has been just below freezing. No problem!
The only area that may need some help is the hands. I bought some thinsulate insulated heavy leather cycle gloves with large gauntlets, but my fingers get a bit cold after about five miles. Just today I warmed them up by the wood stove in the morning, and that seemed to help a lot. Any other suggestions?
By the way, people at work look at me like I'm crazy. They're probably right, but I just can't bring myself to drive a car unless it's absolutely necessary. The fun factor in a car is close to zero.
Ride safe,
Bob A.
